photo means 'a picture made from light', ghraphy means 'to write' and cinema means 'a motion'
so what is a cinemagraph?
a moving picture, but not a movie, an almost static image that is somehow alive... very clever stuff! check it out here
maybe this is what we will expect to see more of in the future, maybe not, either way i think its an interesting technique even if it does somehow mirror the paintings in harry potter.
